Dodge Dakota Sport Convertible 1989

It has taken 2 months thus far and the repairs are still in the works. Damn Farmers Insurance. And, curses to Rebreu Body Shop here in Austin. The truck is not restored to what it was – but it’s sufficient. It’s really hard to get the parts for these trucks, so the dash is mangled and the faceplate on the dash is all chipped up, but those were the best parts they could find. Ugh.

Cadillac problems of course when you consider I HAVE a truck to get broken into. So, no loud complaints here, just lots of grumbling. Although, I’ll likely change insurance companies. (Again).

Below is the second phase of the repairs. Sean, at the stereo place is busy as we speak putting the music back in my life.  A Sony Explod receiver/CD/Ipod unit, with Rockford Fosgate Speakers, and what I should have had all along – a Viper alarm system.

So, while spring seems far away on a cold and overcast day like today – it will come again – before we know it. And, I’ll be READY.

Besides, I get to watch “Sean” install it. Sigh. I hope he needs help. 🙂

Austin, California, Family, Solis

I’m back. Returned home from California on Sunday night. It was a great trip and I certainly enjoyed seeing the family.

I particularly enjoyed my car trip with my Mom, Esther, through the Central Valley to Turlock to visit her cousin Lupe. We had a nice conversation and I learned so much about the family. Be on the look out in a future posting about the information I gathered.

I hope your New Year was amazing and I look forward to the possibility of seeing you this coming year.

Here’s Mom, Tom, Rocki and the kitty of course. We were saying our goodbyes until next time, which looks like it’s the second weekend in June, 2011. Mom’s 75th Birthday is coming up. We hope to see many of you there!

Spending an afternoon with the neices and nephews at the pizza place in Roseville. We had a great time and they make fresh donuts there, which apparently are perfectly bite-size 🙂

We went to the largest pizza place I’ve ever seen. Imagine, Chuckee cheese times 4. Really. There was a small rollercoaster and bumper cars in the place! Here’s Ben with sporting his Justin Beiber hair and our niece Hannah, who won’t stop growing! We had a great time.

The annual trip to San Jose, California

07 Friday Jan 2011

Enjoying the company of Sacramento folks in San Jose. Each year I try and make a trek to my original home-group of friends in San Jose. When I lived in Sacramento, it was fairly easy. Get in the car, drive 2+ hours, tah-dah. But, it’s a little harder now that I’m in Texas.

But here’s a group of folks that made the trip with me. And, I love them for it.

Birds Falling from the Sky?

I think we learned nothing as of this writing (February 8, 2011). So I still don’t know why the birds just fell. The government assures us they did not do any poisoning. So, it’s a mystery. Maybe it’s related to the Mayan calendar?

Let’s Meet

Let's set up a time to get together!!

Living the California Life in Texas

Rob and I live with our puppies Ganso and Zorra here in Austin Texas. We've been together since 1989 and enjoy spending time with family and friends. We moved to Texas from California in 2007 and it has been amazing transition from Sacramento to Austin. I hope we have an opportunity to get to see you/know you soon. Take care and be well.
